INTERNATIONAL THESPIAN SOCIETY

Thespian Society Logo

Honoring student achievement in theater since 1929, the International Thespian Society boasts membership of over 2.3 million students since its inception.

The International Thespian Society (ITS) is an honor society for high school and middle school theatre students. The Society is a division of the Educational Theatre Association. A few famous ITS alumni include: Tom Hanks, Val Kilmer, James Marsters, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Stephen Schwartz.

LWHS now has an active branch of the ITS. Festivals are held annually at the district, state and national levels. As we become more familiar with ITS we will start to participate in all kind of activities.

Each June, the International Thespian Festival is held at a mid-western university. Membership currently stands at approximately 100,000 student members across 4,700 schools. ITS members are afforded many scholarship opportunities, and are awarded special honors upon their high school graduation.
